Classifications and workspaces
Classification
- what is a classifiation
- how is a classification set up
Workspace
- what is a workspace
- allows changes to the taxonomy to be done in a managed environment that does not affect the current classification
- the steps in making changes in a workspace are not tracked
- changes in a workspace can be reverted (before they are incorporated into the classification)
- changes between the currently accepted taxonomy and the workspace are recorded when the workspace is incorporated back into the classification (ie. a complete history of changes is kept).
- how is a workspace set up
→ Rules about classifications and workspaces
- there is one nominated workspace for a classification (currently not enforced). Decided because of the issues that can arise when multiple workspaces are being edited and the conflict that arises on checkin.
- there can be more than one workspace on a classification but it cannot be checked in (what is its purpose then, how enforced)
, multiple selections available,
